Wagashi: Hand Crafted and Hand Stitched Art From Japan In this two session class, you will hand stitch and embellish a beautiful pouch to store jewelry, make-up, pencils and more. Inspired by Japanese fiber artists, this project uses scraps of colorful fabric, ribbon, and beads to create a small and detailed work of art you will be proud to give as a gift.....if you can part with it!Even if you have never sewn before, you will learn easy sewing techniques you can use in other projects. In session 1 students receive an introduction to Wagashi projects and learn how to cut out and assemble different fabric components of the pouch.
