PMC and Polymer Clay Spear Pendant
Discover one of the newest innovativejewelry mediums, Precious Metal Clay. This material feels like clay, is pliable, can be shaped and textured like clay, but when kiln fired, results infine silver. (Sterling silver is usually 92.5%. Precious Metal Clay is 99% pure silver). We will create a PMC bead cap with bail permanently attached to a polymer clay spear that you’ll create using a polymer clay jellyroll technique.

Introduction to PMC
This two part PMC introductory class taught by Maura Muir will cover many of the basics of working with PMC. Some of the techniques included in part one of the class (but not limited to) are cutting, stamping, using forms, inclusions and syringe work. The second part of the class will cover brushing, patina, sanding, polishing, tumbling and stringing. Each student will leave with at least one pendant and a pair of earrings

Precious Metal Clay Cap and Bail
Have you ever hada stone or a favorite fossilyou'd love to string butdrilling wouldruin it? Ready made bead caps just aren't right either? In this class, Maura Muir will teach how to make custom caps and bails to securely fitstones, minerals, shells,, fossils. PMC is an amazing and relatively new product. It is very fine particles of pure silver or gold suspended in an organic binder. It has the consistency of pottery clay. After firing in a kiln, the objects you have created are pure precious metal. The project will be made with pure silver PMC.

New Metals PMC Charms and Chains
Have you wondered about making jewelry with PMC (metal clay)? And what about learning chain maille, too! During these workshops, you will learn the basics of working with PMC while making several charms.You will be creating a chain maille bracelet to put your charms on. During the last session you will be learning to finish and polish PMC, and assembling your own uniquely designed bracelet.
