cozy fireside socks
If you always wanted to learn to make a pair of socks, this class is for you! Students learn how to make a pair of cozy wool socks perfect for relaxing in front of the fireplace. You will learn how to knit with 4 double pointed needles, about the basic anatomy of sock construction, decrease techniques as you experience the joy of turning your first heel, and how to finish the toe like a pro. Fireside Socks uses a heavy worsted-weight yarn so you first sock will knit up quickly. The skills you learn can be applied to any sock weight of yarn. Socks make great gifts. A RUG hooker, that is! (what were you thinking??). This 3 session hands on workshop teaches you all the basics: tools, techniques, and tips you need to complete a hooked rug project. Even better, it gives you the opportunity to learn and apply design concepts, color planning for best results, and finishing from noted artist Molly Colegrove. You will leave with a work of art to treasure and the knowledge and skills to create more. Materials are included in workshop fee. Additional materials available from the instructor during class. Take your hooking to the next level. During this workshop you will create and embellish a three -dimensional piece of art using rug hooking techniques. The workshop covers creating the structure, proper techniques to ensure beauty and durability, finishing and embellishing techniques. The project you create can be used as a basket, bowl, and a hat, whatever you dream up!
