In this 2-day workshop you will learn different possibilities for combining copper, bronze, and silver clay in a single piece of jewelry You will make at least two types of pieces: one that combines copper and silver clay, and another combining copper and bronze clay. Among other techniques, you will learn draping, overlay, inlay of copper in bronze and bronze in copper, wraparound, and hot riveting. A good part of the time will be dedicated to post-firing finishing techniques – especially how to achieve a smooth matte finish as well as the appearance of married metals.
Hadar Jacobson has been a metal clay artist and instructor for the past 14 years. She is the author of three books about metal clay, and a manufacturer of copper, bronze, and steel clay in a powder from. You an see her work on her web site, and read about base metal clay on her blog,
Prerequisite: Experience in metal clay is necessary.

* Studio 34 Guest Instructor Class Policy:

A deposit of $200.00 is required at time of sign up. The balance of the class fee is due 6 weeks prior to class. Class fees are non refundable. However,

if you cancel and we are able to fill your spot with a qualified student, 80% of fees will be refunded If you cancel a class within the non-refundable period, you can still receive a refund if either we or you can fill the spot with a qualified alternative at the posted class price.

If we cancel a class, we will inform you as soon as possible. Please make sure we have accurate contact information such as your work and cell phone numbers. If you will be traveling before the scheduled class, it is recommended that you keep in contact with us. If a scheduled class does not have the minimum required number of students to hold the class, it many be canceled. We will give you at least one week notice. If an instructor is unable to teach a class, the class may be canceled, even at the last minute. In all situations, we will make every effort to assure that the scheduled class is taught. Studio 34 Creative Arts Center and the instructor will not be held liable for any costs incurred by the student in the event the class must be canceled, other than the amount paid towards class. This includes, but is not limited to, airline tickets, accommodations, and lost work.
