If you've made jewelry before, and want to make your own findings, this is the class for you. Or, if you haven't done any wire or beading yet, Barbara will teach you how to create everything you need make lovely jewelry entirely by hand. Topics include which tools to use for your projects, types of metal and why there are different sizes of metal for different projects, and how to create basic clasps, s-hooks, and connectors. Course content covers which tools to use and how to design jewelry using gauges 24 to 28 wire to create fine wire jewelry. This is a technique-focused class covering wire wrapped loops, wire wrapped link chains, earrings and head pins. If time allows, students may complete a pair of earrings or a chain. All tools are provided by the instructor. Feel free to bring your favorite pliers and cutters if you have them.
